>Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 9.23.10

>An officer gives a command. But his soldiers stumble, as they hasten to build a shelter to protect themselves against rocks thrown down from the city wall.
Nahum 2:5

Father thank You for protecting me from myself and from the attacks of others. I pray that my mind and heart is always focused on You, obeying You, following the path that You have intended for me to take. Disobedience leads to chaos, even in the lives of the most “fit” and “trained”. I choose to do right by You and follow Your commands. Protect my mind and heart from both known and unknown enemies. I thank You for Your grace Father. Amen.

When we go against God’s Word, against what He says is the right way and right time to walk; we end up like the officer and his soldiers…completely exposed to attack from the enemy. We must be suited and booted with God’s armor draped and mounted over us, constantly carrying our shields, protecting ourselves from attack. We must listen to that small voice in our head that whispers the way…then we must follow as obedient soldiers.

If you want to know the difference between the “liars” voice and God’s, it is actually simple…the “liar” would never encourage you to do something or go somewhere that would strengthen you, make you a better person, a better child of God; helping to build God’s Kingdom. Temptation is never God. Vanity, pride, ego, self-centerdness, infidelity, and the like are not principles and qualities of God. So a whispered message seasoned with any of these attributes can only be coming from one place…the “liar”.

Don’t let someone or something else distract you from God’s plans for your life, lest you find yourself metaphorically stoned and without shelter!
