>Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 10.26.10

>For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

2 Peter 2:21

Pray
Father I don't want to make a mockery of Your holy name, of Your goodness and kindness, of those before me that You sent to spread Your Word and build Your Kingdom. Before I speak let me pray to You for Your words to flow through me. As I listen to your children, let me listen for Your voice as a filter. Let me see that everything in life is about You, not me, not the people I know or anyone else. The sun rises and the moon grows full because of You Father. Winds blow, water flows, flowers bloom, and stars twinkle because of You.

Thank You Father for another day, another breath, my blinking eyes and beating heart. Thank You Father for my mind that I might reason, and make the decisions to live righteously or not. Thank You for all of my experiences, good and not so pleasant. They have taught me so much about myself, about You, and about my purpose. In Your name I pray. Amen.

Reflection
God sent us His son so that we may know Him. Many of us still don't see the correlation, still don't study God's Word, or follow Jesus' examples. We can quote, share parables, and pretend that we truly understand and embrace our walk. We can make bumper stickers and calendars, write books, preach and teach, and give speeches, all while living unrighteously.

We need to stop being hypocrites and start living the lives God put us here to lead. We need to stop misleading others with our lies and deceit. We need to stop being selfish and start being selfless, putting others needs first before our own- thinking how we can best serve others rather than how we can best benefit from the equation. We need to focus intently on putting God and Jesus first before all others. Our days should begin, end, and be filled with prayers, thoughts, and thanks to God and Jesus. Some people feel that they are gods because they are rulers and leaders of governments and organizations, but God has a special treat in store for them! There is none greater than our Father.

If you continue to resist change, resist God's molding hands, resist those people God placed in your life to make you a better person, resist doing things that feel uncomfortable to you- although they serve God's plan- then you were better off not knowing the way to righteousness. Instead of just keeping track of the good things you do, stop from time-to-time and take note of what you don't do, didn't do, and won't do; who you refused to listen to, who you hurt simply because you could, who you didn't love fully, who you neglected and ignored. If you don't have time for God's children how can you say you are devoted and have time for Him? If what you didn't do and refused to do outweighs or totals what you have done in life, then the good deeds you have done have been for naught. Just think about it.

Love,

Natasha
