>We thank God always for all of you as we mention you constantly in our prayers, because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, in that our gospel did not come to you merely in words, but in power and in the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction (surely you recall the character we displayed when we came among you to help you).
And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, when you received the message with joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, despite great affliction.
1 Thessalonians 1:2-6
Father thank You. Thank You for another day. Thank You for lovingkindness, for Your grace, and for helping me every day in every possible way. Lord when no one else understands me, when no one else is there for me I know that You are. When I am disappointed I can call on You. When I am afraid, Your presence soothes me. I feel Your angels surrounding me.
In honor of You I try to imitate Your son- the perfect example of what You expect from Your children. To build a better relationship with You I try to always turn to You for wisdom and guidance. Father You know that I am weak at times and lean on man and on my own understanding instead of coming to You. Forgive me for those moments of weakness. I am working daily in my walk to be a better person and a better ambassador of and for Your Kingdom. In Your son Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
This scripture from Paul, Silvanus and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians is timeless. Our work of faith, labor of love and endurance of hope in God and our savior Jesus Christ is something to be prayed upon daily- because it is not an easy process. The closer we grow in our walk with our Father and Christ the more we are under attack from mortal mind the "liar". Our minds must be sharp, our eyes focused, our hearts warmed and open to light- and not penetrable by darkness.
We must lovingly be aware of everything and everyone around us. We must be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit as our shield against expected and unexpected attacks. We must not be naive as to the powers of the world, so we must be equipped with the ultimate power of God's Word and Spirit. We must not be comfortable in ignorance, but energized in wisdom and knowledge.
Endurance always signifies a level of discomfort and pain- which is required for growth. Enduring while still praising our Father and His son should be a major focus of ours. Can you deal with life's upsets, drama, disappointments yet still stand strong thanking God for the experience? Can you go through the day not complaining about your life, but rather praising and exclaiming how blessed you truly are? You are alive- now isn't that a blessing! When times get tough and you need someone to talk to- speak to a person who is walking in the Word, not to one who will reinforce your fears and doubt, or bring you more confusion than a solution.
Look around you this Wednesday and see all of the ways God has blessed you, and then praise His name and let the world know just how good God is to you- and what He's done in your life!
Love you all,
