Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 4.29.11

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Colossians 3:13

Father as I ask You to forgive me for all of my wrongdoings I stop and pray for the freedom and internal peace to forgive other people who have hurt and wronged me, whether knowingly or unknowingly. If in case I have not truly forgiven all who have hurt me, please warm my heart so that I can freely forgive them now. I know that I can’t ask and expect Your forgiveness if I can’t forgive others.

My grudges, my animosity, my anger, my aggressiveness, my bitterness, and my self-victimization only block my blessings from You. Forgive me Father for not letting go of my issues with others. Forgive me for dwelling on the past. Forgive me Father for not reflecting You fully and expressing Your love regardless of how others treat me. In Your name I pray. Amen.

If you call yourself a Christian, if you are a student and practitioner of Christ, and if you hope to receive God’s blessings and forgiveness then you need to remember that life is never about you- it’s about our heavenly Father. Do you think His son Jesus spent his days and nights complaining and reflecting on what someone did or didn’t do to and for him?

Do you think he went around telling everyone what someone said about him? Did he go off on those disciples that rejected him? Did he curse and attack those around him? No, he prayed for them and accepted the fact that his experience in life had nothing to do with them or him, but everything to do with our Father.

We have become a society of victims and this has to be displeasing to God since our focus is on ourselves and not on Him. We are supposed to be tools, ambassadors, students, and soldiers in God’s army- His army not ours- His kingdom not ours! We need to stop being concerned about “me” and “I” and more concerned with God and how we can serve Him and His children.

If you find yourself seemingly repeating steps in your life, and having the same experiences it is because you have not learned the lesson God is trying to teach you. You are closed off to Him and until you release, let go, and live the life He has intended then you will stay on the merry-go-round of life.

Stop complaining and whining about what someone did to you and instead live your life righteously without blame and contempt in your heart as Christ instructed. The person who is blameless and free from sin please cast the first stone!

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 4.28.11

You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall

Isaiah 25:4

Father I thank You for waking me up today. I thank You for the breaths that I take and the mobility that I need. I thank You for the senses You have blessed me with and know that some may seem to work better than others- but all are perfect in Your sight.

Father I pray today for those people who weathered through yesterday’s storms in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. I pray for those who suffered partial or total property damage, those who were injured, those who lost their human lives and those who lost loved ones. I pray for those whose nerves were shaken as fear filled them anticipating the worse.

I also pray for those people worldwide who weathered through yesterday’s metaphorical storms. I endured both types of storms yesterday and I am grateful that the storm passed me by with no harm to me. As fear crept inside of my mind and my body began to react to the “what if’s” I began to pray to You for peace. Even when things seemed out of my control, they were always in Your control. Soon peace came and all was quiet and still.

Now today is a new day with new experiences and new issues to battle, but waking up today proved to me that just as I made it through yesterday I can make it through today and tomorrow believing in You. Thank You Father.

What is your foundation built on? If your life like your home is built on unstable ground then the moment a major storm rolls through it will suffer significant damage and make it difficult to repair. But if your foundation is solid and you work to build up the infrastructure with a dedication to excellence, purpose, humility and care then you will notice that even if things get shaken it continues to stand firm.

Is God your foundation or is money, power, your looks, your reputation, your pride, or ego your foundation?

What are you leaning on during a storm? When you’re alone and afraid who or what can you truly count on for comfort and to provide you with a solution to your problems?

Last night as I heard that a tornado was heading my way and I watched the trees and bushes outside shake violently, and the lights indoors would flicker when there was a lightning strike I grew anxious and began to pray. When a lightning strike caused the house alarm and smoke detectors to go off for a few seconds I felt my heart race. I was alone and couldn’t leave the house. Fear began to set in and I soon was scared about the “what if’s”. I prayed harder. Never once during the storm was God not present with me. I simply wasn’t truly present within myself.

“Peace be still” is not just for the stormy weather outside but also for the troubled feelings that stir up inside of us. Say a prayer today for those around you that you know and for those you don’t, and say a prayer for yourself that you learn to quiet the storm of fear inside that slowly cripples you as it takes your mind off of God. Make it an amazing day!

Love always,

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 4.27.11

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

Colossians 3:18-21

Father I pray for more humility and grace. I pray that my heart be warmed so that I can forgive quicker and learn to admit my wrongs and ask for forgiveness sooner. I pray for the wisdom to not make the same mistakes repeatedly and the courage to end the fighting and silence between myself and someone else; because Father You have shown us that our time here on Earth will not last forever in our current bodies, and because of this we must make due with what we have, appreciate and give thanks for our blessings each day, and squash the issues we have with others because tomorrow we may not be here to make things right.

Father I pray for the strength to overcome the fears that hold me back and keep me from expressing Your greatness. Father please forgive me if I have not been leading the life and walking the path as You have laid for me. Re-direct me Lord. Show me the way through Your son Jesus Christ. In Your name I pray. Amen.

If things are not right between you and a loved one- make it right today.
If you are married and have forgotten that your spouse is your better half that also connects you to our Father then you better remember right now your vows to this person that you made before God.

We grow, we change, we forget, but we can always find our way back to the love that binds us when we simply take the time to pray and ask for God’s guidance.

Take your ego and pride out of the situation and let God’s loving light shine on you and show you the way. Kick your ego and pride in the rear end and ask yourself, “what can I do to make things right? What can I do to be a better child and ambassador of God?” and then do it!

Stop being concerned about what someone did or didn’t do to you or in your relationship, and start looking at the blessings that God has sent your way and how you can make the most of them. Start looking at how you can be a blessing to this other person and stop looking at the laundry list of things you think you do right and that they do wrong.

This goes for all relationships, not just romantic ones; business relationships have to be nurtured and revitalized frequently so that they do not become stale.

Do not look at your employer and complain about how they are mistreating you, but rather look at how you can make your relationship better, stronger, and more prosperous. We look at all the positive things we bring to the table but turn a blind eye to the things we conveniently didn’t bring to the table. It’s easier to point the blame at someone else and play the victim, than it is to accept responsibility for our part in a situation and acknowledge the ways that we could have made things better but chose not to….learn to give more and you will receive abundantly. Stop giving just with hope or expectation of receiving- you will always be left with an empty bag!

I love you all!

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 4.26.11

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Ephesians 6:18-20

Father I pray that I remember to always pray for others and pray that they pray for me, that we may uplift each other in Your name. I pray that I am always alert and fully aware of my surroundings, the people near me and their intentions. I pray that Your light blinds the darkness that plots against Your plans for me. I pray that whenever I speak I reflect Your love and grace. I love You Father and I declare my devotion to You this day and always. Amen.

Pray for others as frequently and intensely as you would want someone to pray for you. Have the thoughts and speak the words that best express God’s goodness. Fearlessly carry yourself as an ambassador for the Lord.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection 4.22.11

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:6

Father Your son was tortured and crucified on the cross to demonstrate Your truth that we are never separate from You in the flesh. To prove to the naysayers that He was not only the wayshower, the Christ, and Your son- but also that through him all people could find peace from and in Your kingdom. If his healings did not prove Your power, grace and mercy then rising from the grave should have. He then resurrected by Your power to prove that there is no such thing as death in Your reality, but instead we move on to another level of existence.

Father everything I have experienced in my short life has shown me that through thick and thin, through heartaches and heartbreaks, through sickness and health, and through moments where I’ve gone through having more money than month to more month than money- You have been my constant source of light seeing me through each day. Thank you Father. In Your name and Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

You may be experiencing a rough time in your personal or professional life, or both; breathe and know that just like yesterday and yesteryear God will see you through to the next day. Tomorrow won’t be your today because there is always something different that will happen to make this so. Be grateful for the blessing to rise and experience each day brand new.

Love you all

Therefore encourage one another with these words.

1 Thessolonians 4:18

Father You planted the seeds, You gave us the ideas, You provided us with the tools and I thank You. When life gets dark and dreary, when times get so tough they seem too hard to bear, the answer to all of our issues are within You, and outlined within Your Word. Father I don’t know why we search for answers elsewhere, why it is so difficult for us to rely upon Your guidance and wisdom; but I thank You for Your patience as we take the long route to eventually get where You pointed us initially.

When friends and family are having a rough day encourage them with the Word of our heavenly Father; the parables, proverbs, psalms, and examples shared in His “good book” the Bible always have the power to help in any situation. Then remember to do the same when you experience set backs, fearful moments, stressful times, and ignorant people.

Love you all,
