Sunday Sermon Share Day: Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 2/24/13

Welcome to Sunday Sermon Share Day for 2/24/13

Today’s Subject: You Must Have Forgotten
Today’s Scripture selection is: Deuteronomy 8:1-20

Sermon delivered today at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia by Minister Michael Blake of Allen Chapel AME Church, Washington D.C.

Highlights from Today’s Sermon:

Your history is the roadmap to your destiny

“You must have forgotten”— say these 4 words whenever you find yourself in a funk

Deuteronomy is the 2nd law, for the new generation; a renewal of the covenant between God and His people. 3 sermons delivered by Moses to the Israelites.

Deliverance to the promised land. It was supposed to take 11 days but took 40 years.

3rd part of Deuteronomy says even if you walk away, if you repent, God will forgive you.

You can’t forget your history it helps prepare you for where you’re going.

You forget your value and your core. You are here for a purpose and a reason.

When thinking of your faith think of 3 things:

1. We won’t fail because we haven’t failed
2. Remind yourself that He is ALWAYS ON TIME
3. Say to yourself, “I’ve come too far to stop now”

Sensory memory (earliest stage); short-term (middle 30-60 seconds); long-term memory (your past). We tend to focus on the wrong stage.

“Nothing is impossible because in the word I see within it I’m possible”— sign that was on a wall Michael saw.

Your destiny cannot be denied

Difference between map and navigation system is a map shows you where you came from, the navigation system you have to keep pushing buttons.

Don’t focus on the foolishness. Focus on your future.

Message and Reminder from Natasha:
Be sure to share highlights from sermons at your church or place of worship. Feel free to also visit and contribute to our community chat room where we can have healthy, positive, dialogue on today’s sermons, Breaking Bread daily posts, or issues impacting the Christian community. Remember there is absolutely no preaching, passing judgment, converting, recruiting, or focus on any specific church or religious leader. Those are the rules. We’re here to share words of love and peace inspired by the Word of the Bible. We’re here to uplift and never tear down. If you can roll with that, then you can roll with me and the Breaking Bread family! Visit the chat room here:

Have an amazing week family. Remember that whenever you are going through life’s issues, don’t focus on how bad it is today—-remember what you went through in the past, what you overcame, and how God made a way out of no way—as He will definitely clear your path when the time is right!

Love,

Natasha
