Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 5.3.19

Scripture

Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21 HCSB

Reflection

Courage and hopelessness do not go hand-in-hand. You cannot have courage and lack hope at the same time.Trust and doubt do not go hand-in-hand; they are not buddies, and they do not have the same goal. Either you trust 100% in God or you don’t.

It is amazingly sad and pitiful that some of us can have this blind faith in humans— running behind each other, pledging an undying love and commitment, enamored by looks, scent, and personality—all superficial and temporal—yet, many people don’t have that level of commitment to God, our Creator–-who is eternal and is the only source for our eternal life.

God can do the impossible and can give us the unimaginable. He said we must trust Him, surrender, obey His commandments, and we can have an abundance of blessings. Jesus said that we can perform his works if we trust and obey, and walk the walk not just talk the talk.

Why is it so difficult for us to do whatever it takes to have all that God and Jesus promised? Why do we keep thinking we have or know a better way? Why do we keep thinking we have the solutions? Why must we continue to think we have control and can control every situation and outcome? Why do we think we can outsmart God and Jesus? Why can’t we see that we are missing out on living, by merely existing—and ignorantly thinking we’re living?

Why can’t we just let go?

Prayer

Father there is absolutely nothing that You can’t do. You can do all things—and do all things through me when I open myself to You. Father give me the strength and courage to always have hope, and to reawaken the senses of those who seem to have lost hope. For lack of hope means a doubt in You. I never want to doubt You, I always want to trust and believe in Your omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience. Whatever doubt or fear that is in me, cast it away Father. Amen.

Love always,

Natasha
