So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about 3,000 people were added to them. And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayers.
Then fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need.
Every day they devoted themselves ⌊to meeting⌋ together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude, praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.
Acts 2:41-47 HCSB
When you truly believe, then you know what God can, will, and is doing for you.
When you hang around those who are negative, you will take on that energy, and self-sabotage your blessings. When you hang around positive people, that energy becomes a blessing to you and to others that you encounter.
When you give into fear and forget all that God has already done for you, then you block potential blessings from coming your way sooner, or at all. When you walk in confidence and with faith, you can both see and embrace all that God has in store for you.
When you are more concerned with receiving than giving, you will always be left empty. Givers always have a cup that runneth over. Takers, always see their cup as empty or not good enough.
When you selfishly pray only for yourself, you will find out what loneliness is all about. When you pray for others your heart remains warm.
Stretch out of your comfort zone. Believe. Demonstrate. Be!
Father, I ask that I may see what You need me to see, in order to survive, thrive, excel, and succeed— in life, in my Christianly walk, with my family, and in my career. Father, when You open doors and windows of opportunity for me, I pray that I not only see them but that I am strengthened to seize those moments. I pray that I can discern those individuals that You send my way, from those who have bad intentions.
Father, free my family from debt. Release the burden from their shoulders so that they might rebuild on a better foundation. Heal my loved ones of any and all inflictions. Restore the minds of my elders who may be struggling with reality, time, and place. Free them from the cloud that keeps forming in their minds so that they might truly enjoy their remaining days and years here on Earth.
Help me to be more financially capable of not just taking care of my needs, but to help those who go without. Only You are capable of doing these things and that’s why I am humbly asking You for these blessings, in Jesus’ name. I praise Your Holy name. Amen.
