Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 8.13.19

Scripture

Fools fold their hands and ruin themselves.

Ecclesiastes 4:5

Reflection

Crossed arms leave you closed off to receiving God’s blessings, and incapable of being a blessing to others. Ever try walking, jogging, or running with your hands or arms interlocked? Eventually you WILL lose balance and you run the risk of falling flat on your face. Why purposely subject yourself to that? Always keep your hands and arms open and free to receive and give. I love you all.

Prayer

Father, never do I want to be closed off from You, closed off from knowledge and wisdom, and the right way to live my life. Father I never want to be stubborn and set in my ways where I never consider and accept alternative avenues, shared by other people, to reach my goal.

Lord, I always want to have a “can do” attitude even in a situation that at first and throughout, may seem impossible to complete, overcome, or achieve. I’m not a quitter Father, and You know this more than I do— keep showing me the possibilities and potential that I have. Keep blessing me Lord. Keep my mind and heart receptive, and open to You and Your children. In Jesus’ name I humbly and passionately pray. Amen.

Before we part ways to continue forward with our day, I want to give a birthday shout out to my friend and pretend brother of 30 years, DaRon Jackson. He’s been my big bro (only 2 months older than me) for what seems like forever. It was strange typing “30 years” as it doesn’t seem that long, but it is. We grew up together and somehow I convinced numerous people that we were siblings even though there was no logical arrangement that could make that possible. It was always funny to see people trying to make sense of it in their minds. I hope that he and his wife, Trevis, are doing something special, to relax and disconnect. Happy birthday man!
