Do not be overrighteous,
If we don’t see our true place in life, and understand that God is the beginning, center, and the end of our lives—then we are doing all of this for nothing.
Father, I pray for humility and grace. I pray for the presence of mind to always place You first, think of You first, seek You first, and defer to You. I know this is not about me and always about You.
Free me from my pride, clutter, and from those things and thoughts that would have me to think that I’m better or smarter than someone. Help me to get out of my way and to stop trying to tell You what, how, and when to do something. Help me to fully be what You made me to be, and show me how to possess, reflect, share, and pay forward all that is within me and produced by You.
You are love, joy, kindness, balance, happiness, grace, forgiveness, honesty, patience, inclusive, tolerant, accepting, and understanding. You are me. That means I am You. Since I am You, I pray to reflect and demonstrate that which You are, which means rebuking, refraining from, and walking away from all that You are not—and doing so in grace and peace, not judgment or wrath.
Judgment is not my job or responsibility. I don’t like to be on the receiving end so I should be mindful of the other end, and how it displeases You. Father, You are the only Judge. I apologize for constantly crossing that line.
Help me Father. I pray for order and peace, to thrive not merely survive, and to see and treat Your children as You do. In Your name and Jesus’ name I humbly and faithfully pray. Amen.
