Hi Breaking Bread Family!
Before we start, let me wish my sister a very happy birthday. May God bless her in ways she never imagined!
Jesus went on to say, “To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:
“‘We played the pipe for you,
and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.’ For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by all her children.”
Who gave you the autonomy to serve as judge of others, yet feel insulted and victimized when judged in return?
Know your place and assume it respectfully and humbly. If you don’t want to be judged by people then don’t judge others.
Be more than satisfied with what God provides to you each day. Don’t model what your religious leaders do— follow Jesus’ example, as he is the perfect model of living righteously.
We have numerous examples of religious figures who are just as or more dysfunctional than the most perverse in their congregation, so why would you emulate that fraudulent leader? Instead emulate the man that was declared and proven to be the way-shower. Each day let’s make this our focus. Have an amazing day and week!
Father, keep me humble and grounded. Keep me focused on Your mission and my purpose. Let my learned lessons bring me great wisdom. I don’t want to question You, but rather walk where You direct me.
I want my life to model Jesus, not the men and women of the world. Not wanting to be judged, remind me of this so that I refrain from passing judgment on others. Show me how to do right, think right, and speak right Father. In Your name I pray. Amen.
